Next weekend I going smoke whole chicken that I'll cut up into pieces what would be a good rub that is sweet & spicy but not to hot? what would be the best wood chips to use for chicken-----Apple, hickory, oak ,cherry or what-Thanks--Ken--Colorado---Smoker

Jeff's rub is good for chicken. I like mesquite wood for poultry.

Just an opinion here...evoo, salt, pepper, and garlic powder is simple but good, or, McCormicks make a great montreal seasoning for chicken which is pretty good too. Most woods work for poultry, I usually use apple chunks.
