Charcoal usage

I used almost twice as much charcoal today, It seemed to burn up fast. Temp stayed around 240 all day. Not a new bag of charcoal, didnt do anything different. Smoked 3 lb butt and 4 lb brisket. Loaded charcoal chimney 3 times. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Any chance it was damp and didn't burn as hot as normal?

I dont think so, keep it in garage and bag rolled up

Maybe it was a freak deal, all the weather conditions combined that caused the unusually high consumption.

I cannot say why, but I burn far less in the winter. My truck seems to burn less also.
