I have seen post where they use a charcoal box and put unburned charcoal in the basket and then top it with hot coals. Where can you buy them and how much do they run. I have searched and am having trouble finding a good price. What is the quick reply

Hi Mike,
The charcoal basket. Some like me have made their own to fit the charcoal chamber. Here's mine. Expanded metal 6" tall x 14" x 14". I didn't put a bottom on it as it sits on an expanded metal grate. This was very inexpensive and helps greatly with fire control. This is for a Silver Smoker offset.

Others have purchased chromed steel baskets from Lowes or other stores
kitchen or closet supply section. It all depends on what you have for a cooker and/or how handy you may be. What you cooking on?
