charcoal basket options

Im having a hard time finding the expanded metal to make the coal basket. Anyone have any alternative ways to make one .

Really? Man they have it in every hardware store around here Home Depot, Lowes, Fleet Farm etc. Hmm maybe check out a metalworking shop and see if they can make you up something.

Go to Lowe's look for yellow rack of metals on isle the screws are on,Most Lowe's are the same.Other than that find a metal shop like he said.

Howdy, they don't have any non-galvinized expanded sheet metal here at the Homer's Depot or Lowe's. I had to find a welding and fabricatng shop, they sold me a nice 8" x 44" piece for $10 bucks. I don't weld, so I nut and bolted everything, works just grate (pun intended). Buena Suerte!

Well both stores by me didnt have it but the one 10 miles away did .  basket made first smoke should be tomorrow .Thanks for the help everyone.

also consider getting a larger pan to attach to the bottom of the basket. I found a cheap 18 inch pizza pan online to catch more ash instead of going with traditional pizza pan sizes
