Reading a lot about my new smoker ( Char Griller Smokin champ ) would lining the bottom cook chamber with some sort of heat / lava stones type product benefit the smoker at all ? As far as helping heat the CC . And maybe lining foil over to help with the drippings ? Or am I over thinking as I usually do ?? Lol. Thanks for dealing with all my silly questions

Lining the CC with lava rocks or fire bricks would act like a heat sink. It will help stabilize you cook chamber, but you'll use more fuel getting your chamber to your desired temp. Just my thought.
