Wanted to share a few pics of a cook I did last night. Recently I have seen a lot more cooking in cast iron and I have been trying to incorporate it more at my house as well.

has been sharing some really good looking stuff he has been doing and I figured I would throw this together. Kind of just made it up in my head and sounded good so decided to go for it.
Started out with 3 cook size chicken breasts. Butterflied them out and marinated in Italian dressing and some Italian seasoning.
After an hour or so I tossed them on the grill. Drizzled a little more dressing on top at the flip.
I didn't take very good progress pictures so I apologize in advance. Cut the chicken up and started building up in the cast iron. Started with some alfredo sauce in the bottom of the pan followed by sauced noodles, a layer of grilled chicken, and some bacon crumbles.
Topped that later off with a bunch of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Repeated that step for two layers of the same. Here is it is all cheesed up and ready for the grill.
Put a tad more aflredo sauce on top and into the grill it goes. Coming along nicely.
After about 35 minutes I pulled it off and let it rest for a few. Here are the results.
Used some hamburger buns that were fixing to go out of date and made some garlic bread out of it. Plated up.
The verdict was this stuff was amazing. I didn't want it overly saucy to where all you taste is white sauce and it had the perfect amount in there. The cast iron added a certain crunchiness to it that you just cant get baking in a casserole dish or something of the sorts. For sure not some souped up greasy alfredo you get from Guido's restaurant on the corner. The chicken being grilled really set it over the top flavor wise and the whole dish got that nice grilled flavor too. For a fairly quick weeknight meal not bad! Thanks for looking!
