Hey, guys and gals!

My SmokeFire thermometer is off by 30-50° F. But we already know the built-in thermometers are crap, right? The problem is that it's almost impossible to run this smoker low enough for a low and slow cook.

Will cleaning it help or should I just swap it out? If the latter, is it possible and where do I begin?

Thanks!
Murph

Update: I tried the steel wool (Brillo, S.O.S) as suggested in this thread and found it to be super-easy and effective. It was just a quick wipe and cleaned right up. It did, indeed, bring the grill probe back in line. It went from widely wrong to just annoyingly wrong.

Thank you, folks!

Murph
