I see Butterball is going to start selling fully brined turkeys in time for thanksgiving.
Now that's no surprise but this time they will be "cook from frozen"!
Just open the bag and place in the oven.
Testers reports are extremely positive so far.
Birds may not be available everywhere, and the stores getting them are limited, I believe.
Me? I'm in...IF I can find one in Austin, but so far no joy.

Interesting . Wonder if it will be a smaller size ? Could be trouble . A lot of people can't get them cooked from raw / thawed . Lol .

Just bought a new range . It has a " Cook from frozen " setting on it .

i usually buy turkeys that say "packed with a x% solution" i always assumed those were brined.

Has to be some guideline to follow , wouldn't you think ?
Do you honestly think the package instructions will be read let alone followed?..... IE insta and YT will be followed........LOL

Wife is gung ho Butterball/Honesuckle/enhanced bird and they are far from an ideal brine. Just barely brined IMO.

Cook from frozen? Can't be too much worse that grandma's stuffed bird. We all survived.

Smoked turkey was the one thing that got me into this hobby and I chased ALOT of techniques and the first time I tried curing one the search was OVER. Last one I did I used chopsaw chopsaw spin on Pops low salt with lemon extract and best ever but my lemon extract (fancy organic stuff) is sorta weak so plan to bump it next time.

Just thinking about what it would take to get it right from frozen . Figuring some people are already doing it half frozen anyway . Has to be some kind of method to it .

I'm up to a tsp now . Not sure if the extract is losing strength or I'm getting used to it .

I bought a new bottle of lemon , and grabbed some Orange because it was there . Lol .

I had to look it up. Looked like a LEGIT brine based on sodium level. My thinking is the cavity is not filled like typical with giblets etc so not such a big deal. No joking, will try and get one. My wife would all over it.

My extract is definitely light. Nice stuff just less potent than typical. I picked up anise to run a loin with sometime.

Might be worth a shot. I haven't baked a traditional turkey in years. I never smoked a whole intact one either. The one I smoked, I broke it down...called it FrankenTurkey! Man those wings were fantastic. Might do that again this year. I used a pastrami rub on the wings. I need to get just some turkey wings...cant remember if I posted that here or on another site.

I have a Butterball turkey deep fryer too. Only problem is getting a 14lb or less turkey! I will usually just inject and deep fry a breast. Wonder if those pre-brined turkeys can be deep fried without the moisture erupting? Obviously thawing first!

The wife just informed me that she told the kids and grand kids that Thanksgiving full turkey dinner will be at 4 o'clock. However the bird is prepared has to be her idea so I guess I will find out soon enough, or not. I think this year I'll just hide in the bushes and watch.

Since we started brining the bird is a game changer... not changing a thing. Letting the fridge thaw a turkey is easy... plus my wife loves the way it turns out... not gonna mess with a proven method.

I’m this this camp…..we are lucky because our Costco always brings in fresh butterballs so no thawing other than the surface freeze that all turkeys have to have for shipping.

Jenny O has been selling turkeys to cook from frozen for years, they aren't to bad when you crave turkey all of a sudden. I would try 1 if they were not 1/2 as much more than normal.
