I'm sure most people have been watching BBQ pitmasters since it aired a month ago, and I've noticed bottles of squeeze on butter in the background of the teams camp. Anyone have an idea of what they us it for? My two theories run from using it like a mustard slather during the rub process (tried it with no reall difference). Or to salvage dry meat after the fact. Eitherway anyone with an answer would be greatly appreciated

Cooking your chicken in butter isn't uncommon on the contest circuit. Also, have seen more than one team squirt some in with their ribs when foiling.

Last but not least, rumor has it that many of them were just filled with water and frozen to use as ice packs in the cooler.

Yeah, what he said..........I use the word butter and margarine interchangeably even though it is not correct.

Good catch TN
