I am local so i know where to go. Couple of places downtown you definitely need to go to are the anchor bar, home of the original chicken wings, and dinosaur bbq, which i think originally started in rochester but definitely has the best bbq in buffalo. If youre in the mood for hot dogs and sausages, go to a local favorite Teds which has a couple locations in the suburbs. For the best roast beef on weck, go to Swabl's in west seneca. Oh and when youre in the area, look for Lloyds Taco Truck (www.whereslloyd.com). They have awesone tacos and burritos. Moes in orchard park also has some good burritos and tacos as well. From what i heard they were the first winners of the food truck wars on food network. Ill post more when i think of other places, but those are my favorites.
Thanks! I already had the anchor bar on the must do list but now I may have to reorganize my time slots lol. I'll be there for bday so I'll hopefully be spending the whole weekend eating and drinking.
i think the anchor bar at the airport is better than the one in town. wing wise. at least when i was there last month. also if you are into sausage making check out the retail store for "the sausage maker" i would post a link but that would get axed... going to be back on 4/23 i will also checkout dinosaur bbq
Oh and i also forgot pearl street grill & brewery. Great food and better beer. Im also about to check out a place in depew called Kentucky Greg's which i heard has some amazing Smoked bbq. Ill let you know how it is... and when you get here, Welcome to Buffalo
Never made it to pearl street, but I did go to Woodcock Brothers brewery up in Wilson( I think ). Also hit the lodge and Chefs. I can't begin to fathom how great the food scene is in buffalo it was crazy.
