I am on my third Brisket attempt.  I make my own dry rub for smoking.

This time I am thinking of soaking the Brisket in some Jim Beam Maple for a day.

Will it pull in the flavor or is better to make a glaze for after?

I don't think you will get much of the flavor just soaking it.

However you could inject it & the flavor will get to the inside.

I like the idea of the glaze too.

I've never put a glaze on a brisket & would be interested to see how it would taste.
