I'm planning to try SmokinAl's brisket/hot Italian meatloaf and went to Gordon Food Service for a brisket this morning. I just did a packer about 3 weeks ago, but figured I could cut a bit off the flat to grind and freeze the rest.
I paid $4.99# for the last one. Broke my heart but we were out of brisket.
This is what I found;

Is there a brisket surplus all of a sudden? This is about what I paid 2 years ago!
I went home with one and tried my best to make room in the garage freezer for another packer but no luck :-(
They're probably all gone now anyway LOL!

Saw an ad for $2.99 choice packer here this week. Certainly glad to see.

yeah they seemed to have dropped here too

Dang, I better check the store tomorrow. Prices have been so high here I don’t even look anymore. But we are trying to eat what we have in the freezers. I do have some room now, especially for a bargain!

My guess is that they have worked out some of the bottle necks in the supply chains due to Covid19....this has helped with the prices...

probably with a lot of restaurants shut down or running at 25-50% and slaughter houses back up and running they're starting to get some surplus back, hopefully they'll keep coming down.

Prices in Ohio are down on brisket. I’ve seen prime at around $3.59 - $3.79

Thanks for the heads up . I had been staying away waiting for prices to come down . Had another tip from a member and picked one up at $2.99 . Had to go this morning and check this out too . Glad I did .
