My son is getting ready to purchase his first home. I thought an offset stick burner would make a nice house warming gift. I found a Lyfe Time smoker for sale locally and just brought her home.

She needs a little love.

Most of the rust seems to be surface.

And there is certainly plenty of steel in this girl!

Looks like you got something to do this weekend.
Should be nice when you get done

I am making some progress. Lots of cleaning, scrubbing, and scraping.

I am also trying a rust dissolving product for the fire box.

Next will be scrubbing everything down and power washing the exterior.

Wow that is Awesome!! My wife might freak out if I brought that beast home, Hahahaha!! Great score!!

Dude I'd buy a new house if someone would gift me a cooker like that! Hopefully he will get many years of great cooks off of it.

Made great progress today. Got it all washed up, dried,

The rust remover did a decent job but I didn’t take it all back to bare metal.

And applied flax oil.

Now it’s time to build a few good fires and get the temperature above the smoke point.

Now we just need to get her moved in.
