Bradley Original Smoker for Christmas

New to smoking and looking for some advice on the use of this smoker as the manual doesn't say a lot. Looks to me like I want to build something to get it up off the ground.

I have an old charcoal smoker I picked up on Craig's List for $20 but only tried a couple smokes that were not very successful so want to start off with the Bradley on the right foot.

Thanks in advance as I know MES seems to be the favorite smoker here.

I don't have a Bradley and i have never used one. There is some videos you can watch where they use one. Steven Rechlein's Project Smoke they use one almost every episode. that could get you some ideas. The are a free stream off the PBS website. just google project smoke and you will find them
