ok im about to try a boston butt in 5 days its 10 pounds and im gona smoke it on a vertical smoker with hickory chunks on a element with a pan of water for moisture.prob do a dry rub of brown sugar, paprika,little chilli powder,salt,pepper,i have mojo spanish marinade was gona do it over night and stab wholes in the meat so itll penatrate figured i smoke it for about 6-8 hours starting with 2 hickory chunks and add ass it gos guess i could baste it ,not sure when to add bbq sauce or can i on a smoker any tips all i got?
