So after my couple months of having fun was having hard time getting blood sugar in control again. Started fasting intermittent this week. 16 hour fasting and 8 hour eating window per day. Was getting worried after starting as my sugar up more everyday. They don't said worry liver is purging. Well get home from work today and got this. Now if can keep there. Really wanting to try that Detroit pizza. Maybe after few weeks if this will hold!

Brian, this week I started one-day-a-week fasting diet... I have no idea why I didn't start to fast four month ago, at the beginning of "working from home" saga. It's not easy while you are in the office but while you home - not a problem. Also, this week I started intermittent diet. I tried this diet about a year ago and it didn't give me too much of benefits in regard to losing weight or lower my blood sugar but... I decided to try again. I dropped about three pounds so far but my blood sugar still kind of high (I want it below 110). Will try to stay on this diet (fasting once a week and intermittent) for another 1 and a half week - we'll see... Tough... but we got to do what we got to do.... Stay well!

Good work Brian. Mine had been up, and it took 3 years and staying home 3 months from these crazy times, to get it down. The stopping eating out has definitely helped a lot. Never realized how much All Home Cooking, All of the Time, helps to good health. Stay healthy.

I too am I diabetic. If you put your mind to it you can control it with diet and meds. I cut out soda 99% and try to watch other sugars. I do have sugar but in moderation and have switched to wheat pasta when I can. My last A1c test back in May were 5.2 so I was pretty happy. It’s a horrible disease if not treated my dad, uncle and grandmother passed away from complications of diabetes.

I cut out of soda 100% and watch my sugars also. Only sugar-free product and only in moderation. Even Though, I had to switch to insulin from oral medication two and half years ago.. Diabetes is not only watching your diet - which is extremely important - but it also important how your body (pancreas and liver) absorb the sugars you consume.... Like I said before - it's a tough task but time to time I have my stakes, briskets and gooood burgers (a few times a year)!!!!

Wow 5.2. That is great. I been dealing with this a long time and getting harder to come back from my breaks. Time to start getting more serous.

That's very good 5.2. I got mine down to 6.1 from 6.7, I'm pre diabetic. I get checked in 6 months.
6.1 was my lowest in 3 years, so I'm going in the right direction. I cut out soda 20 years ago. Coffee once a day, and water the rest. The only soda I use is when we're having some cocktails, which ain't as often as I'd like. lol

Have a cousin that started the fasting diet awhile back, 16 hours fasting 8 hours he could eat. He had quite a few health problems and it really helped him drop weight and getting healthier. Keep up the good work!

Ryan, this is not really a fasting diet: fasting is when you fast for 24 hours, when you cannot have any food for 24 hours. "16 hours fasting 8 hours he could eat" is a intermittent diet which is really helpful for some people... to drop some weight which results in lower blood sugar... I hope your cousin will benefit from this diet...

Sorry for my wording or poor use of terminology, thank you for the correction. But yes, it has definitely helped him.

That good to hear. My other choise was going to have to be keto and I cant do that one. I think I can do this one with lo carb and keep my cheats to a 1 or 2 instead of a month or 2.
