Black Earth VS Woodwind

Can someone please tell me the difference beteen a Black earth hybrid and a woodwind sg pellet smoker?
Basically, the Woodwind sg is advertised at $899 and the Black earth is $1800. It seems to me that the Black earth has got a hotspot in the middle because of the way it is built. Woodwind seems to be fairly cheap(price wise) compared to the Black earth.
I have an opportunity to buy someones Black Earth that was won at a golf tournament for about $1000. Am I stupid to pass it up and buy a Woodwind SG??

Well, kinda depends on where you live, I think.
The Black Earth is Canadian. If you need a part, or something breaks, what about service?
I'll grant you the Black Earth is something unique, an interesting idea.
But if you live in Asparagus, I think I'd go the Woodwind. Much better known.

To be honest I live 25 minutes from where they are built at Crystal Springs Colony. I just am not convinced that the black earth is better than the woodwind. I tried the demo my Dad was trying and it seemed that the Black earth could use some more design rework as far as the even heat part goes. There is slots in the deflector plate right above the burn pot that you cannot close completely and therefore you have a hot spot right in the middle. That's where I am hanging up I guess.
