Well first off I must say I have been trying to catch up with everyone's posts, but time is very short for fun stuff.
It was Lovies Birthday on the 6th of June, and I knew I had to do something as the week before it was mine and I got home late and there were some very unhappy and PO'ed looks my way.
So I came home home early and decorated the house and made supper ( had her sister take her out for a couple hours.
First off I was not sure what Tavern Ribs were , ( just kind of like rib tips joined ) Rubbed them up with MC Gospel rub from my buddy.
Let them sit for about 30 minutes while I made a big batch of beans ...lol sorry opened 2 cans and added onions , celery and lawyers seasoning.
On to the Q with Mesquite chips in the tray and the beans under the ribs
Did these hot and fast over indirect heat , 40 approx minutes on the grill over the beans , 45 wrapped with butter and brown sugar
And then 10 on the grill with a nice coat of Onion BBQ sauce
The ribs were good and lots of flavour. Strange little tip bones but juicy
My plate with vinegar cukes and my B + B pickles
But the star of the show was Lovie and her cake , had a picture of her blowing out the candle but she said no , lol She is now in with the rest of the family the above 59 group.
She was very happy and loved the cake ( I order the day before on my way home ( picture of our property on the ocean )
I was down working there yesterday and Mona and her sister showed up just in time to see the Mackerel schooling around our pier.
they caught a few for their supper last night I had cold ribs.
Thanks for looking and now off to try and catch up for a bit before back out to work in the yard here . I was told chops for supper tonight.
