I was wondering if I could use pelets in my BCS?  I was also wondering if the bags of wood chips ever get to old.  I have some bags that are a few years old and wondered if I could use them.

I do not believe the wood chips would ever get to old. Maybe too dry depending on how you store them. I have used some that were over two years old, and I have used wood that has been in the wood pile for years. As for the pellets, make sure they BBQ grade and not fire grade. Put a handful in the BCS pan and see what happens, can't harm anything.

Good Luck.
