I'm a long time lurker and I have finally worked up the nerve to post. I would first like to thank all the contributors and moderators of the site. I feel like I know some of you from reading and following your posts. I have learned so much from all your posts.

I hope to be an active member, but doubt I will be able to contribute at the level of knowledge and experience that most have on this great site.

I got my smoker about a year ago, but have not used it as much as I would have liked. I'm detemined to use it more. Up to now I have only smoked uncured meats, but now I want to try curing my own meats. You might have guessed based on my member name that I really really like bacon. So naturally my first cure project will be BACON!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo:

Bob, evening and glad you finally joined us...   Hey, everyone has something to contribute.... we can all learn something.... Jump right in with anything you are doing on the smoker, garden, shop, kitchen..... it don't matter....   Somehow it will all relate to smoking and eating great food....     Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Your posts have been very helpful as I started smoking over this past year.

Some of the mods I made to my MES during that time have been inspired by you. At some point I need to take a picture of my smoker and post on the site. It would be a tribute to the ingenuity that can be found on here.
