I spent all day Smoking some spare ribs in the new UDS and right when open up the lid the dog runs smack into the smoker the grate falls and ribs are in the coals.  Now I hate this dog to begin with and that is from a dog lover.  He was a replacement for my favorite dog ever way too soon and I just hold a grudge against him.  I hope this is still just the anger talking.

I'm sure the dog didn't mean it. Rinse of the dust and slap some sauce on them and warm then up in the oven. Be sure to share with the dog.

I think I have calmed down the dog will live at least for one more day.  The ribs are in the trash and they were looking good I was q-viewing it.

Now the dog is only a dog and they do stupid things alright. So I would have washed the ribs off and finished them in the oven like Meat said. Now I lost a dog and replace him with another animal too but as close to the other dog as you were this new one isn't your old dog this one doesn't look like the other dog. This one doesn't smell like the other dog. So this one is a new dog and don't you ever say that you want to bbq the dog. Sp love this new dog or get rid of it.

I would never hurt the dog and won't get rid of it because I don't want it to wind up in a kill shelter just was real frustrated at the time.  The ribs were ruined and I am over it will make some more later this week and all will be well.  The dog is a rhodesian ridgeback mix and he is still full of energy.  He is a good dog but was forced on me a week after i had to put down my boxer when the family was not ready.  Time will heal my rib hunger for tonight.

Since we are posting dogs the first is the best dog ever.  Baxter left us two years ago died of kidney failure.

I agree it is just a dog, mine got her leash wrapped around the smoker once and knocked over food and hot wood chips etc.  no real damage just bent a handle.  Got to love the dog lol.  Last few days she has been messed up with a slipped disc Dogs love us for just who we are.

Chomper jumper through a window once because he is scared of lightning scared the bejesus out of my wife.

Sorry to hear about the tragedy with the ribs, but did you at least get it on the cam?

All joking aside you may think about changing out your shelf bolts to some that are just a little longer so that the grate can not fall to the coals. Mine are long enough that it is sometimes hard to get the bottom grate in and out.

That sounds like a good Idea

that has got to be the smartest dog ever, bet next time you'll share before he has to go postal on your smoker

lol... Chomper now knowes to "bump" the drum and he will get meat!! My dog usually tries to lay down right where I have to walk with the meat, so I trip over him and "share" whatever we were going to have for dinner.
