I am building a relatively large smoker ( I will post pics later) and intend to smoke whole hogs.  I am expecting cook times in the 16+ hours range, and want to ensure somewhat constant temperatures without staying up all night.

Although i'm familiar with the elements that would be required to do what i want, i have no clue where to get most of them, the best way to set it up, etc.

I want to have a thermostat that i can set at the desired temp, sensing from a thermocouple in the smoker, controling a blower on the fire box, which would pull in more or less air to stoke the fire when the temp drops, and stop pulling air in when the temp is right.  hopefully that made sense.

anyhow, any help sourcing these products would be greatly appreciated!

go to thebbqguru.com they have exactly what u are looking for and works unbelievable. The digiq is for one smoker and they have larger units that can control multiple pits at different temps. I picked one up about a month ago and couldn't imagine ever not using one again. It maintain 225 for 13 hours for a brisket and the temp was never off by more than 2-3 degrees the whole time
