au jus?

smoked 2 butts earlier. put a pan in to catch all the drippings. i bought a fat separator. well after my smoke i poured all the drippings into the separator and put in the fridge. well when i went back to check on it i had 4 cups full of solid fat. is there no au jus from pork or did i do something wrong?
