Ashes?

Does anyone know if the ashes from my UDS would be good for my garden soil

for next year? I get plenty of ashes over the summer and was wondering if I could

re-purpose them.

Saw a thread someplace that said a light coat is beneficial but don't go to heavy.  Most of mine goes on the lawn.

SOB, morning.... I use all the ashes from my BBQ and pellet stove in the garden...  ashes are quite alkaline so I add ammonium sulfate which acidifies the alkalinity of the ashes....  wood ash has many micro nutrients which plants need...
