Long story short, I bought a new cast steel knife for my grinder (gander mountain #12) and It doesn't fit the square shank of the auger.

The shank measures 0.480” and the new knife is 0.455”

I was wondering if anyone could measure the square end of their auger and let me know if it's my auger or knife.

I think I know the answer, but looking for confirmation. Thanks.

Well doing some research, it appears there are multiple size hole sizes that they call #12, Allied Kenco lists at least 3 different sizes. I was never aware of this until now.
You would think that doing your research before buying would save you some trouble, but for what it's worth the small holed one I bought was listed as a 1/2" hole. Go figure.

Makes me think I better go check mine to make sure it fits. Just purchased extra just in case a bone was missed somehow. Blade is suppose to be the same for #10 - #12 for Cabelas grinder.
