So my wife chose to go out to a restaurant tonight and we could not agree on which place or style so Golden Corral was happy medium. I decided to try the smoked meats.....wow. Worst tasting....worst texture....worst everything smoked I have ever had. Brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs all the same nasty flavor. If you work there, please tell your company you’ve tried it now don’t ever do it again! I even asked the Hispanic lady a slice from the point as she was cutting in the flat. She was confused and said it all the same cut of meat. I decided it wasn’t worth educating her and took a slice of the flat. Doesn’t matter as it was terrible. My wife said what the hell kind of smoke meat is this. It tastes like sh1t. Again I do not mean to offend. Just do not do that again. However you make a fine sirloin steak and I mainly go there for the crab salad and scalloped potato’s.
 
I think like the Ponderosa Steak places from my youth, these places buy stuff pre tenderized and marinated . Its a trick to lure in people with dentures that normally can't eat a steak . The seniors and church people go after services and use the coupons . Feel sorry for the hostesses or whatever they are called. Small tips at those places.

I don’t know man....I am not a person that would waste brisket, baby back ribs, and and a pork butt for replacing a top or bottom sirloin. The sad part is people that were getting it actually liked it. Willing to be these same people like canned chili as well and call it good.
 
The Mrs took a neighbor for her birthday for lunch a couple of weeks ago and she wanted to go to Golden Corrall. Mediocre food for too many $. The place was packed. Those “All you can eat” places are all the same....
 
Lol! Oddly enough, buffets seemed to be just the ticket back in the ‘80s.
We only went there because I wanted Mexican or BBQ and my Wife want Italian or American burgers. Sadly I am going to another one Friday at a place called Chuckarama. My brother want to go there for his birthday and check this out. I offered to make for everyone hotlinks, buffalo turds, two tri-tips, a spatchcock chicken and a mess of vegetable medly. and he said no. WTF MAN!!!!!
 
Chuckarama, sounds like something Ron Popeil invented. Hope you have a better experience then you had at the corral.

Well any holiday,birthday or special occasion around here everyone "requests" (requests MY A$$)that I cook.I look at it this way - you're doing something right.It disgusts me to pay for overpriced food that I could make better myself for 1/5 the money.I sir am a restaurant snob....That stuff better be damn good and please me for the $.

They have the best scones.....and their roasted chicken is good...oh and the aisian chicken salad is good. Friday is fish night...they better have salmon. But yes I would rather cook myself. I can have all of this ready in 1 hour if prepped the night before.
