They got them on sale right now. There’s only 1 video on YouTube of the 10” lem slicer and it looks very smooth and sound great. I want the 12” so I can slice whole pork belly and brisket and other big cuts, been looking for a used Hobart or berkel. I’d really like a 14”. Not going to be using it every day or even every week but want something that will last and be smooth for many years, unless I really get into pastrami or jerky. Looked at a berkel 289 today 14” and the guy said it moves freely and glides nice. Get there and the thing is looked up on the main slide and the thing would not even disassemble when I tried to pull the upright arm off. Offered 200$ and maybe rebuild it. I’m glad he turned it down.

I bought a 10 " Lem a couple years ago... and love it! Seemed to end up with a 12" Bizerba slicer from an auction a couple months ago as well... didn't mind paying just over $600 for a slicer that sells for $3000 new.
There's deals out there if you're patient.

Nice good to know that u like it so much. What model Bizerba do you have? And can u fit a whole pork belly on that puppy? I’m talking with a guy about a Bizerba 12se right now. He wants 800$ trying to talk him down to 600$ and couple live edge serving boards. They look very smooth on YouTube and go to 1” on the cutting depth. I like the sharpener too. Simple and effective looking. And out of the way when not in use. Hopefully he bits. Might have to go to 700$. Since it’s kinda my budget but maybgo touch more. He’s had to bring it down from 900-800 on his ad, chainsaw milled these slabs and flattened them myself

Those are really nice!

I haven't used it for bacon yet... but the way the carriage goes up at an angle I think it will fit a 12 " slab.

I haven’t look much into them. There are several on marketplace. The lem 12” only has a 7.5” carriage I guess so probably won’t work well to cut a whole belly. The Cabela’s got a pretty decent sized carriage but then machine did not seem very sold to me. I’m surprised how many of these are for sale used

If it helps, here's a couple pics of mine.

From the left side of the carriage to just before the blade is 12 inches

1000005982.jpg

Inside the carriage is 11 1/2 inches.
I can't get the screw out on the slide rod so it can be taken apart and cleaned... probably why it looks like it does.

Ya I seen a spec online couple hours ago. 290 mm for max meat width. That’s 11.47”. Basically 11.5”. Which is what I’m looking for so I can have a full slice of bacon. Thanks for taking the time and measuring for me. The guys is stuck at 700$ for the Bizerba. Probably worth it

How strong do you think the mechanism is on the main carriage arm going to the shaft under the machine? This guy FaceTimed me and seemed to forget how the thing works and thought the carriage was stationary. He couldn’t get it to move and I had to tell him several times it moves. Anyway. He has the front of the machine hanging off a work bench and looks like the arm going under the machine was bottom out on the bench. Do you think think could get bent over time from doing that? The arm that pushed the meat against the back wall slid good even when pulling on the black handle and the main carriage did move good once he found out it was hitting on the bench

Not sure how much difference there is between mine and one you're looking at but here's more pics

Don't think it's gonna bend... dang thing is a tank, and heavy as one!

What if the arm supported on ? I can’t tell. Ok I can kinda see something going upward behind the bend of the lift shaft to lift your slicer. Probably not much support from getting pushed upwards.
