I think you will like that slicer overall Charles. Heads up to only use a food grade lube on the slide mechanism. No oil or crisco, those will gum up. I use the Cabelas brand food grade lubricating grease.

TAKE EDGE'S ADVICE ABOUT THE LUBRICANT, IT WORKS THO AIN'T CHEAP.

I use the same oil I use for my wooden cutting boards that works well and is pretty easy clean up. I have an older (30yr or so) slicer that is similar. Think I got it on sale for about $40. I hope it lasts forever.

That looks like a pretty sweet slicer. I have an older 7" one that has worked well over the years but have thought about upgrading. Then I re-think it since I only use it about twice a year. There are more important semi useful things I could buy without my wife noticing. :emoji_sunglasses:
