Check to see if there is a way to upgrade software. I have JBL speakers and they have an app that does that.

That was a great idea. I found app Ion Sound Control but would not find my speaker. The one I use at the river is over 20 years old but still sounds great. I have a newer one on patio which is the one I tried to connect to with app. That 20 yo is better than the new one. Go figure. Battery last several weeks. They rated at 60 hours. A friend has the JBL Extreme that I would like to get but it is to much $$ for me and it has short battery life. Edit I just looked and extreme 3 $120 off at $209. I might pull the trigger but I really like going over a month between chargers.

I found a app called Tasker that suppose to work for this. After trying to use for a hour asked for refund. Man is that complicated!

Try going to the phone app and selecting the 3 dots and go to settings should be an option for "answering and ending calls" make sure that "answer using speaker" is shut off.

Could not find that but found this. Not sure about it though?

I tried the JBL app and there was no option for blocking phone calls. I assume you're referring to the JBL app?
Did you look for a firmware update for speaker? Which speaker you have? At this point I thinking of just getting the JBL Extreme 3 and can use a 60 watt power bank to keep it charged while in truck.

I have older Flip5 and Go3 speakers.

What I did notice on the Play store was there are several apps depending on which speakers/headphones you own.For the bluetooth speakers I own the basic app really doesn't do much other than allow you to stream to two speakers at once,I never bothered with the app.And I used those two speakers on jobsites and having calls interrupt was a must.

Now my Bose speaker has every option available under bluetooth. This particular model is the SoundLink Flex Portable Wireless Speaker Series 2 which for the price is an excellent speaker for its size.

I think I will wait until this weekend when friend there with his JBL Extreme and see if he will let me connect to it to see if call option there before I buy new one. This is crazy! My deal on new phone not such a great deal after all! I just use Tracfone. Hardly spend any money a year. I got this one for $80 with 1500 minutes Texts and data and one year card.

Like I said I have the same phone but I'm on a plan (at&t) thru my wife's company so it's fairly cheap for us.Every few years I go to Wallyworld and get a phone from the pre-paid case and just move the Sim from the old phone and soldier on.This time around they had the MotoG on sale for $39 so I went with that,I previously had the '23 model of the same phone so the learning curve was easy.
