Slower Lower Delaware
Hey everyone, my name is Brit, I'm a engaged father of two, a 3 year old daughter and a 5 month old son. I live in boring old Seaford Delaware and I am very new to smoking meats. The only experience I have is just regular old grilling; steaks, burgers & dogs, and chicken. I am addicted to Famous Daves BBQ, luckily we have one local. My absolute favorite thing to eat is BBQ Ribs. I honestly could eat them 24/7. For years I have wanted to have my own smoker. I am an electrician, currently laid off though, and since the economy is slow I have been trying to think of ways to make a little extra money as well as save a little money. Going out to eat is becoming to expensive so I figured since my family likes bbq food, why not cook our own, and after I get good at it, hopefully, maybe start catering or cooking whole hogs for people. I dunno, all I truely know is that I love grilling and making my own smoker would be very interesting to me because I love welding, fabricating and cooking. Since I have been laid off, I have been trying to do as much electrical work as possible. I did a job just earlier today, and the church that I did the work at, just converted from heating oil to natural gas. So they gave me there old 275 gallon oil tank (with about 150 +/- gallons of heating oil (which my house even runs on). So thats just a little about me and my visions.

Im not sure what kinds of smokers there are out there, or what kind I should, or need to build. I do know I would like to cook whole hogs, but possibly bbq chicken, or even just burgers and hot dogs. So is there any kind out there that can do all those? Also, I would like to build it as a trailer. I am currently searching around trying to find a old trailer someone may be trying to get rid of.

thanks in advance everyone
