Been married for close to 40 years most of the time when I’m talking about bbq or my rectec she pays no attention to me. Got a package delivered the other day that shocked me though. Had mentioned a few months ago I wouldn’t mind getting a smoke box for the rectec and lo and behold. One was delivered out of the blue so she either did something bad or I did something good lol don’t know which.

Now to figure out what I’m gonna use it for and on what

I dont want for much, never ask for anything material, and dont want birthday gifts, or even celebrate my birthday. But my wife got it in her head that I needed a birthday gift for my 60th this year. A freaking metal detector! I mean, it's cool and all, but I still have never used it in 5 months. I have stuff to do...and that wasn't on the list!

Yes connected on the side so lower heat coming through it for cold, smoking. The top rack warmer than the bottom rack.
Not sure on bacon or anything else for that matter new to cold smoking so will be a learning curve will be doing research on the fourm.

You may be right on the future plans. To be honest she has a lot of Amazon boxes coming in all the time so maybe it’s already here lol
Have to do a bit of research on cold smoking and the weather needs to cool of some as it’s still close to 100 everyday here

Mounts on the side. You remove the stack and side handle and it bolts up through those holes. Then remount the stack at the back of the smokebox and install the side handle on smoke box

Can’t stop thinking about all the ads in the back of the old comics. Could have been worse, you could have gotten x-ray glasses or a magic kit.
