I cannot get this thing to stay going this morning.  I put the dust in the micro for 45 seconds before stating.  I get it all setup, light it, let it sit out for a few minutes, good smoke going, put it in the smoker and within 5 minutes no more smoke.  I take it out let it sit out for a few minutes and the little breeze that is blowing outside today gets it going again.  Never had this problem before, smoker vents are the same as they always have been.  Any suggestions?

The only quick thing that comes to mind is to move the smoker around so that the air goes into the vent more directly.  When I was doing dust, I'd let it sit for about 10 minutes prior to inserting into the smoker.  Want to get a good smolder going.

Air is also my first thought.  When using dust on hot smokes I leave the intake fully open just like the chimney.  The fire in my SFB seems to consume a lot of oxygen.

Good luck and good smoking.

What smoker you using it in?

Yes, you need some draft thru the smoker, to keep the sawdust burning

If directed at me, I am using a horizontal offset.

I cannot speak to TJ's smoker? Possibly his GOSM?

Good luck and good smoking.
