Sorullos are deep fried Puerto Rican corn fritters.

It starts as a boiled cornmeal dough

which is then rolled into finger-sized sticks and fried.

Instead of hand rolling, I started using the sausage stuffer as an extruder a few years ago.

Makes the Sorullos look factory-made.

That's a great idea!
I wonder if it could make giant pasta noodles too?

Never mind.. I'll just google it...

But if you care to share your process that would be cool...

Found one where they put cheese in it... Also one with corned beef and cheese...

Thanks all!
Giant noodles and Churros sound great.
I'm pretty sure my inspiration for this was my kids PlayDough toys.

Ingredients:
1.5 cup yellow corn meal
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
2 cup water

Bring the water, sugar, salt to boil. Slowly add the corn meal. Keep stirring until it becomes a thick dough consistency.

At this point it is typically rolled into cigar shapes and deep fried.

The traditional dipping sauce sauce is 0.5 cup mayonnaise, and 0.25 cup ketchup.

It's my wife's recipe. She always leaves out the cheese - but I'm of the belief that cheese makes everything better...so maybe next time.
