Hey all...got an issue with my Trail Embers 3 in one smoker.  Anyone else out there with one of these?  They are sold at TSC's (Tractor Supply Company)  Anyway, the pan that catches the ashes, has a star type vent in the bottom for the ashes to fall into the bottom of the smoker.  On that bottom pan, there is a sliding door to let you control the burn.  It seems that after the coals have burned to ashes, they fall into the bottom, but they accumulate and eventually plug up that "star shaped hole", then my fire/smolder seems to suffocate. The smoker is designed so I don't have access to easily stick something in there to move the ashes away from the holes.  I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has the same smoker and has observed that issue.

thanks,

dano

I've got one! I think I've got it dialed it pretty well now. I did modify my pan which has been huge for me and I think may help you too.

Mods:

High temp silicon on all bolts/nuts.

Lavalock gasket on lid and both doors.

Ive adapted the DIY Heatermeter blower to the vent.

Drilled 1" holes in the charcoal pan.

One left by me at a tractor supply. $109.00
I can't get it now because I just bought another kind. Oh well.. And they are discontinued.
