She wants a gas grill.
This a good thing. I work odd hours so often am not home for supper.
A gas grill means she can cook her own supper.
Any recommendations for a cheap reliable unit

Maybe look for a weber gas grill on Craigslist or something similar... might find some decent priced used ones. We bought one before we had any smokers and kept it, doesn't get used alot but did happen to get used tonight.

If I was looking for an affordable, simple to use Gasser for my Mrs.'...This Weber looks pretty Bad A$$! Tom has a couple follow-up videos. He seems pretty impressed...JJ

Can't go wrong with a Weber. Like Brokenhandle said check craigslist or facebook market place. I got a new stainless weber genesis 435 for a little over $100. I added cast iron grates and use it all the time.

I like the used idea. If you can try and find one that either has a sear burner or can be added. Night and day difference on a gasser. Love my gasser.

I just bought a Broil King Signet for just under $500 at Menards. I think they are being discontinued. Plus you get 11% back, but i think you have to spend it at Menard'. I had an earlier version of this grill that I really liked. Haven't assembled the new one yet, but it seems to be substantially similar. There was a Char Broil on Woot today for $200, if you're a Prime member: https://sellout.woot.com/offers/cha...3370719-performance-tru-inf?ref=w_cnt_wp_3_17

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'll have my buddy that is a garage sale, Craig's List, Facebook Market, etc. shopper look for a Weber or similar unit for me.

Thanks chef jimmyj chef jimmyj for the point.
I have a Coleman Roadtrip that we use for camping. Weber unit appear to be a similar style.
Wife does not consider the Roadtrip as a gas "grill". She calls it a portable gas stove and I agree with her.

So there is this general rule for buying a gas/propane grill that I thoroughly believe in. It's that you have 80-100 BTU's per square inch of cooking surface. (at least main surface)

Now you will find that this is HARD to find. This rule means you can easily get hot enough to sear steaks and cook them properly, etc.

So no matter what you go with it is wise to try and get into this desired range of BTU per square inch of cooking surface.

I have found a very few grills do this but there are a few options out there. Huntington is one brand that usually falls in this category of performance and they have this no frills simple grill that fits the bill here:
Huntington Grill 2-burner on Amazon $139.99

I've bought 2 similar to this in the past for an ex-girlfriend and it simply just performs but has no elegance to it haha. When I bought it for her these things cost $80 not anymore though.

I actually have one similar to this when I broke the acme nut using a pipe wrench to tighten it onto a propane tank, I man handled it and in my haste I and broke the plastic nut.
So I bought her a new one took the old one and put on a new plastic acme nut and it is my spare gas grill for when mine dies out. My main one is also a Huntington but not a cheapo one. My main one also follows the BTU performance mark. Huntington get's it done! :)

I hope this info helps :)

Just had another thought that if the missus is going to be using I think electronic ignition might be worth it over the push button WOOOSH style :emoji_laughing: Also, a little bit of training... Light with lid off, slowly open valve so no OPD fault, etc.
