This was wonderful and beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I have had the pleasure of breadfruit once. ONCE. I was a child at the Morton Arboretum in Chicago on a special tour for school. I think I was the only 4th grader that liked it. That was a LONG time ago.
Your pictures are like dreams... they are so foreign and wonderful. Thank you, Gene.
Dang, I viewed all these threads backwards, I started with Part 2. What can I say Gene, way cool! Thanks for sharing and taking pics of vendors that really didn't want their pictures taken. $10 for watermelon and $15 for cantelope, Yikes!
GREAT PICS Just a quick note .... mitihui is not made with coconut milk and sea water. coconut milk yes, it's a process to make mitihui. Shrimp heads are involved and it ends up being a fermented coconut milk. I lived on the island of Moorea from 1980-1995 all the pics made me drool and hunger for real food.
Great pics Gene, we visited that market back in '86 on our way back from Oz and the Cook islands. I'll have to check out my pics but I'm sure they're on 35mm slides
