a "little" kettle upgrade

just few years ago I always said "I've got a WSM and that's all I need.
Then I started hanging our here. Finally broke down and got a 22" Kettle.
didn't take long to figure out I need grate with hinged edges.
I am the ultimate tightwad, so I bought a knockoff grate with hinges off of amazon.
it didn't take long to find out why the "Chinese" grate was so much cheaper than the Hunsaker grate.
I also bought the smaller budget SNS basket to see if it would be better than the cheapo Weber basket.
Here's what eventually happened to the Amazon grate.


So as gift to myself I finally opened the wallet and got the full sized SNS basket with water trough,
and a long as I was spending I also ordered the actual Hunsaker grate with bigger openings .
This stuff ain't cheap, and after opening the package I can see why.

Yeah, I usually pay twice as well. Once to see if I like it, or can diy something - then a quality replacement once I’m convinced.
Thing is, now you see the quality difference and hopefully feel a little better about the cash outlay. Looks solid, congrats.

so as I posted separately, I just got a new Weber Kettle to replace my previous one. The one I had before was the master touch, so one level up from the premium original kettle. I kept the hinged grate that came with the master touch and it is way higher quality than the one that came with the premium original.
The only thing about the master touch version is it has the center removable which is nice, but a pain to try and keep clean.
