does anyone use one and or recommend one? i have never used one but with my new slicer and all i want to seal stuff good for freezing cheese and meats.

I have a 8 year old food saver that has taken a pounding. The bags can be pricey-so i have my mom buy when on sale on senior discount days....

Food saver is the way to go. Have the upright space saver model . it stays plugged in an ready to go.
You will get a year or more in the freezer w/ stuff that would burn in 3 months or less in freeaer bags.

Many of us have Foodsavers. I am still using mine after 10 years, granted, it's not used continuously, but it's still working great.

Simply Smart bags? Is that like a cheaper Food Saver roll? That is the only thing about them, sure you get a lot of use but if you bag quite a bit 'o stuff the rolls can get to be expensive.

Foodsaver is that we have. Had it for at least 8 years now, and still going strong. You can find deals on the bags at sams club and sometimes really good deals on ebay. Get the best one you can afford and you wont go wrong.
We use ours for everything from basic storage of veggies from the garden, to making pre-made meals for camping trips. Also good for storage of fresh herbs.

Foodsaver here. Its dying now that I am using it 10x more than normal. I bought one of the cheaper ones. Im looking at one of the game saver ones for 199-299 also considering the cabela's one at 399 or 349 when they put it onsale.

I tried cabela's bags and they work just as well as the foodsaver ones. Cost is able the same.

We are on our second Food Saver - they work great
Have had one in the house for over 10 years.
I make really big bags and just cut off the mimimum - bags last a long time that way

We have a Foodsaver Model 850 and I believe it is a Model 900, the only way to go in my opinion...

I ended up with two because when we moved about 8 years ago we couldn't find ours, finally discovered it in a box it shouldn't have been in that we had taken to the storage warehouse...

Foodsaver here, its the only way to go. I reuse my bags as much as I can. I have found some cheaper rolls at Menards. They seem to be as good as foodsavers rolls.

As I am in the early stages of setting up, I won a Bifenett vacuum packer on flee-bay for less than £20. It works and will do till I get the urge to upgrade. I also got an electric meat slicer from Argos for under £30.

I tested both and am sure they will be adequate for my needs; I also have an adress/lable printer that I use on my wine and jams, so I am good to go.

I have a Black & Decker (I think it's made by food saver) The only problem I have with the darn thing is that it will not let you just "seal" a bag. You have to wait the whole vacume cycle before it seals the bag. But hay... It was nice and shiny chrome when I bought it!!!

We have had a FoodSaver for many years. It has worked great. Bags are pricey but I have tried other bags and they seem to work well in it too.

I have real good luck with a ziploc hand pumper. For $5.95 it does pretty good. No electricity either. Had an electric but it never worked right so I took it back. I am pretty cheap.

Foodsaver here too

If you haven't heard we like The Food Saver. I too have one and love it. It was one of the best things to buy cause after you get one of these you go out and buy a freezer so you can start buying in bulk. Things are cheaper that way We have 3

I get em at Fleet Farm. Compared the price to buyin in bulk of ebay, an it works out the same without havin to store all of em. Been really happy with em. They have gallons, quarts, pints and rolls. Ifin I catch em, they have been on sale at upta 50% off!

I found this to be true.I dehydrate and seal alot of peppers.Vey common for them to puncture bag-sharp edges like jerky.I simply cut open first bag and add another one.Works great-for airtight seal.
