A couple of questions.

What is meant by "People you follow" Do you get alerts every time they post or reply to some thread?

Also

What does the banner(for lack of a better term) "insider" mean? I saw that on someones thread although I can't remember whose.

I'm having trouble figuring out what the New Profile Posts is all about.

This new format has its quirks and I'm a slow learner.

Somehow it didn't work for me, I filled a couple people but no alerts. Maybe I turned mine off. I think yes, You get a message or something if you follow someone and they start a thread.

Thanks Bear....That much I figured out but navigating all the other stuff on my profile page is something else. In the past we had control of our profile pages but with this new format I feel helpless.

I guess I will figure it out if I play with it long enough.

Thanks for all the responses .

From what I have gathered the New Profile Posts section really has little use or value to me personally. Instead of becoming frustrated and confused by it I will just simply ignore it. If I wish to discover something about a member I will PM him /her (ops now called Conversations) and communicate via that medium. Sometimes change is not the greatest thing to some people.

People you ignore will prevent you from seeing anything they post--or at least it used to.

There is also a List of People you follow on your Profile Page.

And as for "Ignore"
Yup---That's why I never Ignore anyone---You don't learn by ignoring people, especially if those people you ignore are more knowledgable than you are.

No John, I knew what you meant. I had someone else in mind.
I know you wouldn't ignore me.
I knew you meant "Ignoring the Profile Posts Thing". I don't do anything with that page either, unless somebody sneaks a question in there (usually a Newby, because they don't yet know about the "Conversation" thing).
