So I scored a nice haul on 80-20 burger today , $2.97lb. I made a cute little burger for my wife that I didn't even waste any camera time, she doesn't want to be a media star and neither will the burgers I make for her, puny six ounce thing with one slice of swiss. Ah, but my burger, 3/4 of a pound! First we must have bacon, because bacon makes everything better, and what could be better than a burger fried in bacon grease? NOTHING! I'm still working my way thru this store bought stuff before I put my homemade maple bacon on the griddle, I've only got about twelve pounds left. Of course I caramelized the onions in some of the bacon grease.

Next up is to introduce a 3/4 pound burger to the flat top, makes a beautiful sizzling sound with that bacon grease.

While that burger is getting happy I take the opportunity to mayo up my home made burger bun and get the onions and bacon in place

I was thinking of slaw, tater salad, or maybe some frys's, things move so fast with a flat top there's hardly enough time to be a shutterbug. Get some jack cheese melted onto that baby

Covered up with a little squirt of water, get it on the bun

The only side this burger called out for was a beer.

I know I'm just scratching the surface of what this griddle will do, it's got to be right up there with a Weber kettle as far as versatility. Of course it's nice not to be heating up the house when it's 109º outside, but that's something most of y'all don't have to take into consideration. Time to take a griddle break the next couple of days and fire up the big boy then the Weber, it's all good. Thanks for lookin' in, stay safe, we sure as hell are! RAY

Looks great, I have a early 36" Blackstone without the lid, I was using a small tarp to cover but things happen and wouldn't get it back on when it cooled, rust would appear due to fog rolling into the carport, finally got around to making me a cover for it, now no rust lol.

Great and beefy looking burger Ray!

I like your choice of side, Rolling Rock. That’s a big PA beer besides Yuengling. 109 degrees!? Wow! I’d be buying the Rolling Rocky ponies chilled in a bucket of ice to keep that heat away.

Awesome looking burger done just my way. Although today I could only eat 1/2 of one that size. Portion control has gone way down with age.

Looks good Ray . That's a big burger . Funny how those flat tops add something to the cook , but they sure do .
Nice cook .

Great deal on the burger! It’s coming down some around here in Ohio too. Saw 73% yesterday for $2.29 in 10 lbs chubs. 80/20 in the around $4.79 still. Varies higher at other stores. That is one fine looking burger!!

Gorgeous burger! I'm excited to see what comes off the smoker too.

Between your griddle posts and Weber kettle posts, you are going to cost me some money :emoji_laughing: ... don't have either but seriously considering both for the arsenal. I need a charcoal grill besides my little camping one.

That is a good looking burger Ray. I'm like you, mine came Monday and I've cooked on it every night and am just scratching the surface wih what it can do. As you stated, the picture taking can be challenging as quick as the food cooks. It sure is fun to do!
