That's a pretty good video. I agree with a lot he had to say.
Hickory is definitely my favorite wood. Miss Linda on the other hand, says it's too strong. She prefers pecan--same flavor profile, but milder.
Oak, I find kinda bland. Apple, I just don't like.
Orange is my go to wood for anything pork. That said, the best pork loin I ever bbq'd was with 60/40 mix of pecan and mesquite.
Alder is great for fish, but I find that willow is just as good.

Hickory, Cherry, Mesquite, Oak and Apple in order of most commonly used here.
Pecan doesn't even make the list as my family doesn't like it.
Cherry and pork is a match made in Heaven.
Hickory and cherry get mixed quite a bit.

Good video. Not great.
His preference in wood doesn't match mine.
Pecan in pellets in the tube is my limit.
I love oak. Used it all the time in the stick burner offset (RIP) and fuel came off my trees.

I need to get working on my fridge build this winter. I miss the offset flavor of real wood. Pellet pooper even with a smoke tube just isn't here
