Richie,
I hope you are moving where the weather is warm, and the fish never stop biting.

Sonny its' colder there then here,I will at least be able to grow a garden

Wow. I've never heard of anyone stripping out the metal gears on the old style frame before.

I have the white plastic/nylon gears and have stuffed down to 15mm casings with mine using a 10mm tube. The key is go very slow. The weak point in mine would appear to be the white plastic/nylon plunger as you are taking that large surface area of force and concentrating it to the 10mm outlet for the stick to stuff. I do recall someone even posted a thread a couple of years back about breaking the plunger plate from stuffing sticks. I've been using mine for probably 10 years or so and not had any problems.

One of the Huntrite 5lb models with the metal gears could be as low as $69 if you have a local Northern Tool and do free ship to store instead of your home ($79 minus a $10 off $50 purchase coupon is $69 final price free ship to local store).

I cranked mine all the way down and made a mark on the vertical gear shaft with permanent marker. I know when it has bit bottom. Won't crank anymore after tbat.

Shame it says out of stock on-line, ships in 15-29 days. Not sure I want to let them use my money that long before it even ships. Gotta think about it

Looks just like the game winner I just returned and replaced with a lem mighty bite. I stripped the gears trying to make 17mm snack sticks. It worked fine until then.

Think about greasing the gears... It won't hurt... I grease my nylon gears... I also grease the inside of the meat can and the o-ring with Crisco .. anything you can do to relieve the friction will make you stuffer last much longer....
