I need some suggestions on what to cook for my sons second birthday party.  Last year I made about 15 lbs each of pulled pork and brisket.  I don't really want to repeat what I did last year.  I am expecting about 20 people at the house.

I was thinking spares, but I'm not sure about the whole keeping warm issues.  Plus, they are not easily consumed in a picnic atmosphere.

We had beef ribs, spares and bratwursts for our daughters 2nd birthday (18 years ago!). Great time had by all. Did the ribs ahead and rewarmed them, sauced,  in covered foil pans.  The brats were parboiled in beer, then grilled just to brown and flavor them up. I was still pretty much a q-noob, but no complaints!  Those toddlers were scarfing down the brat's, no buns, just down the hatch!

How about a mess of Moinks? I bet everyone young and old will love them. You could also do a mess of chickens (whole or parts) or turkey breasts sliced for sammies. And don't forget the smoked cheeses if the party is 2 weeks or more away!

Now we're talking.  I have plenty of smoked cheese left from a cold smoke I did a while back.  I could do moinks and a few fatties.

I would do burgers and brats, but I like to do something a little different since B's and B's get done so frequently this time of year.  It is nice when someone can remember a party that I threw based on the food I provided.  There won't be many kids at this one, so I don't need to worry about satisfying them.

A Turducken and a crawfish boil maybe?

I get mine from here and they are always good. Overnight delivery FTW! All the meats there are good also. I have had several stuff pork chops, chickens, gator, and a mess of other things. Do beware they are Cajun and the food is spicy :-)

A local suggestion... maybe smoked chicken wings, brats, and kielbasa sausage?
