I looked into back woods party. It's a little cheaper 1600 .. but I don't really like the rack size. I like how the 270 smokers open up .. having it at the wide side of the rack will make quick work out of basting and peeping on the color of things. Plus the racks are staggered so it helps with the view . I've talked to both humphreys and 270 they are both really helpful and patient with questions. I've called back woods about 10 times and nobody ever answers. I talked to a guy known by kirbbq online who has a 270 he what nothing but good things to say. I'm not buying one for about 2 months but I figured I better figure it out now. "If" I get the 270 it will be black and red with a stainless steel top. One of their new options. They had diamond plate on top but it isn't holding up like they wanted so they switched to the stainless steel top.

You've done your homework. I agree that being able to speak to someone is important. thanks is for sharing that.

I'm also very intrigued with the 270 and you aren't helping!

One thing about the 270 is I did notice the heat diverter plate warps .. I zoomed in on a few videos and pics. Contacted 270 and they said they have fixed the problem but the warping never caused a performance issue. Also seen a guy sold a 270 standard which sells for a couple thousand after shipping for 1000! Either he is to nice of a guy or they don't have a good re sale value cause they are a newer company
