My 25 year-old Lang model 60 is in dire need of welding repair work. I have a welder selected, but I have another question. The reverse flow drip pan is almost completely rusted out. Once that is replaced, do you paint it on the inside, or just reseason it? All of my offsets have come black inside.

No expert here but I would probably just clean it good then wipe on a good coat of cooking oil then run good it to season it.
When/if I ever get around to my smoker build plan I'm not painting anything inside the cook chamber, everything inside will just be getting a solid coat of cooking oil then a good long smoke. Not sure if I will even bother painting the outside yet, that might get a rub/spray of oil too.

I wouldn't paint anywhere in the cooking chamber, I'd wipe on some lard to the underside of the reverse flow plate before welding it in. That way, the under side of the plate gets seasoned as well, when you season the cooking chamber.
Why lard/ Crisco? Because it will stay where you put it throughout the welding in process.
I used Crisco on my last offset, because it's all that I had at the house, and it worked out great, I just used an old lint free rag and paint brush to reach tight areas to apply it.

Post up some pic's before and after.
Dan.
