Some of you may have seen this thread in the reverse dlow section. It originally was going to be a reverse flow untill I changed my mind at the last minute.
For those that don't know this is a tribute cooker I'm building for my stepdad. He is an Army Vet and he was married to my mom for 41 years until we lost her in January to Pulminary Fibrosis. So I will be incorporating some of his military insignia and something for mom in this build. Here's some pics of what I have done so far.

Got a little more done today. Firebox is pretty much done. Just need to make the coal basket, and finish the exhaust dampner.

Got the fire basket and exhaust dampner done. Its getting dark too early for me to finish it during the week. This friday we will see the finished product! I had to put a counterweight on the door. He could get it with two hands but now its a one hand operation. 20201127_171430.jpg 20201127_171442.jpg

Here it is the day I delivered it last saturday. It has been seasoned and had two cooks on it. Runs perfect. I just need to teach him it doesnt need much wood at all to run steady temps.
