Was at Home Depot the other day and ran across a double basket propane fryer. We don't eat a lot of fried foods but thought this would be nice to addition to the arsenal to do wings and fries and stuff for a lot of people. So I picked it up. Wife just shook her head.

Kept thinking last week of what I wanted to cook for the super bowl so after I found the fryer I knew it was going to be wings. Bought 5 packs weighing 4-5 pounds a piece for $1.99 lb and a 5 lb bag of russet potatoes. Didn't get a ton of pics but figured I would share what I had.

Saturday I invited the brother in laws over and we drank a few cold ones and cut all the wings up into drums and flats.

Here I am supervising.

All finished up here. 20+ pounds of wings cut up and ready for a rest in the fridge overnight.

The next day got them all breaded up. Used a plastic cake carrier turned upside down. Worked pretty well.

Here is the double basket fryer in action. Took about 1.5 gallons of peanut oil.

First batch of wings out. Nice golden color with a nice crunch.

Between cooking, the game going on, and family and friends over I only managed to get one plated shot. Tossed these in some parmesan garlic and plated with some hand cut fries.

Had some crock pot meatballs covered in Jack Daniels glaze and some rotel dip and tortilla chips to munch on as well. Now I love smoked and grilled wings but there is just something about a nice crunchy wing. I made a reaper wing sauce and we had a few other kinds as well. Let everyone toss theirs in whatever they wanted. All in all was a good time with good food. Great super bowl was happy to see Andy Reid finally get his SB ring. Thanks for checking it out.

Beautiful batch of wings John! I like that new fryer, I too know the wife shaking her head all too well!

Someone gave me a turkey fryer they don’t use. It was brand new, I repainted it, just need a new burner for it...I assume the fryer you bought is just the vat with the two baskets? If so, I’m gonna go look at them. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m jonesing for a dozen wings now. Like!!

Sorry I had to edit the post to include the plated shot didn't stay on the first time for some reason. If you are in the market for a burner for your turkey fryer pot I would check it out. You get the propane burner and the vat with the baskets. Took about 5 minutes to put together. I like the stand because its higher than the one I use normally for my turkey fryer pot and my big boil pot. I think its made by River Grill. Check it out man. Thanks for the like!

Damn John!! Those look fantastic. I like the fact that it's a light breading. Can't stand wings that are more bread than wing. I'd have driven to TN for a plate of those!!

Good job sir!!

Awesome meal! Those fries look perfect! I'll take some malt venigar and catsup with mine please! That fryer will make a nice addition for you. Now all I can think about is my lonely fryer packed away. Usually use ours for summer fish Fry's. Need to get my oldest out to the lake this spring so we can start stocking up the freezer!

Those are some great looking wings!
And I love fried anything. The only thing I don't like is using all that oil & then finding a place to store the leftover. We really don't eat enough fried food to justify getting a couple of gallons of peanut oil. Although I do have 3 fryers. What the hell is wrong with me!! 3 fryers & hardly ever eat fried food! BUT if I want some fried fish or oysters I have the means to cook them up right now. That reminds me I need to have a neighborhood fish fry.

Those look great! After justifying the 36" griddle last week (at least in my mind) I don't think I could get one of theses for the amount of time I would use it...but it is cool.

Thanks Robert appreciate it man! I agree on the breading just a light coating and its perfect. I got an air fryer a few months ago from this really nice and generous guy who didn't need it anymore. Thing works wonders for re-heating wings...plus its been a fry making machine!

they are some nice looking wings and fries John, Yeah I think peanut oil definitely gives a different flavor, put me down for a seat next year!

Thanks Travis! Yeah I was thinking a big fish fry when it gets a little warmer sounds like a damn good idea!
