I got a 6.2 pound prime rib on sale and my sister in law got one too and asked me if I’d smoke hers whenever I smoked mine. So now I’m smoking 2 at once. I’ve smoked about everything but prime rib. Hope it works out.

AMPS with pitmasters choice fired up.

Smoker at 220.

Rubbed the meat with lea and Perrins thick and sprinkled with SPOG.

Put in the Masterbuilt 2.5 at 3:30.

Shooting for 135 IT. Figure it may be 7:30-8. But there’s no hurry. When it’s done we’ll eat lol.

I did one for Christmas pretty much the same way. As long as you have a thermometer in it and time is no biggie you're all good. Only thing I would recommend is fire up the grill and sear it for additional flavor and texture. Cheers and happy New Year.

Now that's the way I like my PR!
It looks fantastic & perfectly done!
Nice job & congrats on making the carousel!

Thanks Bear. I can’t imagine trying to learn tricks of the smoking trade without all the info from the people on this forum. I especially use your steps often I think because we seem to have the same tastes.

I just got done eating and that looks really tasty...
