Been purging my 120 vert for about a week now.  Made a field trip to a few scrap yards yesterday and found the motherload of propane tanks next to one of the yards!  They had EVERYTHING!  Gave the guy $40 for the 120.  Then found a real nice long piece of 1/4" steel for 30 cents per lbs at the scrap yard.  Bought the guys a 6 pack of cold cokes and they cut it up for me into 20"x18" squares....yesterday was great!

Making a trip to HF today to buy a new grinder.  Gonna do this with a MIG100 so I'll need all the gap fill I can get.

what method of cutting the old propane tank are you going to use?
I think it will be a combination of the rotozip, sawsall, and lots of blades & cutting discs.  Mother nature is not being too kind at the moment with all this rain here so I think I will direct my focus towards the firebox first.

Looks like you have a nice project there.

You know that plans inevitably change as you get into it.

Are you going to trailer it?

Keep the pictures coming as you progress along!

I'm in for the build.

What size tank did you say that was, it sure looks bigger than a 120?

Same here got a tank found at a local dealer, after he junks it out of service. Going to make a multi-use hunting camp / smoker/ grill on a  trailer

Thanks.  Im really excited and eager to learn but doing my best to go with the flow while being patient.  Not going to trailer build this one.  This will be me learning how to weld, "trial & error"...

It's a 120....it looked tiny next to the 500's they had out there lol!
