On September 11, we pause to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the extraordinary heroism of first responders who ran toward danger, and the enduring resilience of a nation united. Through the darkness of that day, the strength of the American spirit shone brightest—proving that while physical structures may fall, our freedom, courage, and compassion remain unshakable.

We carry the memory of those we lost in our hearts, standing together in solemn tribute to ensure that their stories, their sacrifice, and the unity forged in the aftermath are never forgotten. May we always honor them by protecting liberty, seeking peace, and living as one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. 🗽

Beautiful blue sky here in NJ an hour outside NYC, much like that day until it wasn’t 😥

@DRKsmoking I just read a nice article today about the people of Gander and all the diverted plane passengers they helped out 👍
One day I'll tell my 911 story, it's pretty crazy.
Maybe later if I have the time.

Just to be perfectly clear. I didn't post this in favor of one political party or another. This is to remember the innocent lives lost on that tragic day. Nothing more. Blaming our current President for an attack that happened 25 years ago is absurd and has now takin away from the 2977 lives that we are supposed to be honoring.
This is incredibly sad to see how united we were 25 years ago, to how divided we are today.

Don’t worry John, I think most of us took it in the spirit in which it was posted!

Thank you for reminding us all! 👍

9 11 WE WILL NEVER FORGET ! AMEN !
I spent a lot of time on Sandy Hook/ Raritan Bay as a kid.
We watched the twin towers slowly rise up as the were being built, Finally using them a a beacon when sailing to keep a straight coarse.
I Later moved down the coast where I am now, Cape May Area. South tip of the state.
When the towers came down you could smell the toxic fumes all the way down here!
Smelled like a huge nasty ZEROX Ink printer, But way worse.
It lingered for about a week.
I was on the phone with a guy when it happened?
I thought he was joking?
SAID TURN ON YUR TV!
I saw it and later the 2nd tower being hit live on TV, Just as everyone else .
1st thing I thought of was my Sister working in NYC!
I called her, told her to get out of NYC ASAP!
She and her husband both took the 1st ferry off NYC to Hoboken,NJ.
Telling me how bad it was to see from that vantage point.

Political?
I do not care what party yur from?
To have anything Negative about the 9 1 attack is down right WRONG!
I am a 3rd generation Americian.
My grandfather WW1 Marines.
My Dad WWII Navy
My FIN WW II Korean War, Fulltime Firefighter.
I did not serve due to medical complications after borth.
My daughter applied TWICE to Marines, but could not get in due to low tests scores. BUT!
She Is An EMPT in 2 towns, Lifeguard Beach Patrol Supervisor and soon to be a fulltime Firefighter soon God Willing. to follow her grandfarther.
Bottom line is this!
We all built this country on values.
Unfortunately there is a lot of Crap out there.
I will leave it at that.
THANK YOU ALL THAT SERVED IN THIS GREAT COUNTRY ! AMEN!
ELF

Ok, this will be a long one.

Back in 2001 I didn't have a cell phone, and either did my girlfriend at the time. We lived together for 5 yrs.
So I figured it was time to make an honest woman out'a her.
I bought an engagement ring that I couldn't afford, but I bought anyways. Then booked an Alaskan cruise for the both of us.

(The trap was set).

She was super excited to go on the cruise.

It was a cruise up to Alaska out of Seattle, then stay 10 days, and fly home. That way I could shoot a Caribou and we could fish salmon, rock fish, and halibut and see the sights.

On 9/11 we had her brother drop us off at the San Francisco airport at 5:00AM. At this point all was good.

We checked in at the desk, to get our boarding passes. The lady working the desk, asks if we would like to upgrade our tickets to first class for $40 each, heck yeah, lets do it.

So we upgraded our tickets, and went to get out preflight bloody Mary's and some breakfast. I have the engagement ring in my front pocket. I had planned to ask my girl to marry me on the cruise ship .

Everything was great, we heard it was boarding time, so we get in line for the first class pre boarding.
We were fourth in line.

The plane starts boarding, then they stop us right at the plane and shut the door in front of us, and say that there was going to be a slight delay. No problem, then we see the people that were already on the plane comming back out .

What the heck, nobody that comes off the plane knows anything, all they say is they were told that there was there is going to be a slight delay.

The slight delay ends up being an hour, I'm getting kinda pissed at this point. I walk up to the boarding desk and ask what the heck is going on.
They say that was a hijacking in NY, and it shouldn't be much longer.

So I tell my girlfriend to hangout, and I'll go grab two more bloody Mary's.
(I don't like flying)

I walk into the bar and see the second plane hit the W.T.C.

I thought it was a movie until all the women start screaming and crying.

I ask the bartender WTF is going on, he says " we are being attacked".

I go grab my girl and bring her to the TV so she can see what's happening. Then the alarm in the airport goes off and tells everyone to evacuate the airport immediately. WTF???

I grab our carry on bags, then out of nowhere fully battle ready soldiers strapped to the T's along with K9 handlers, come storming in.

By this point people are in full panic, running and screaming.
My girl is crying, and I'm scanning EVERYTHING around us before walking to the nearest exit.

I figured I could use my AT&T calling card to have a friend that worked in SF at the time come pick us up, because we were stranded.

I call 3 people and they were all on lock down at their jobs.
I try to call a 4th friend and my calling card didn't work this time, and there is a recording saying to call the phone company to get it working again. I try calling, and no dice. I couldn't get through to an operator.

Imagine everyone in SFO airport trying to get on a cab, or bus, there was no frick'en way.

Then I see a Hyatt hotel shuttle van pull up. I grab my girls hand and say don't say an F'ing thing, let me do the talking. The driver asks our last name. I tell him, then he says that we weren't on his list. I say we better be that we have had reservations for over 3 months. He say no problem get on and that we will sort it out when we get to the hotel.

We get to the hotel, I hand the guy a hundred dollar bill and ask him to call us a cab. He laughs the says no problem. He knew what was up, but was super cool about it.

We take a $120 cab ride home.
As soon as I put our bags away I call the phone company to find out why they shut my calling card down in an emergency situation.
The lady I'm speaking with, says "well did you make 2 calls to Pakistan and three calls to Peru" ???
I say that isn't even funny, she says that she's not being funny, and the reason my card was shut off was because somebody made those calls ñusing my calling card number. WTF???

I say for sure it wasn't me, but I wanted the bill to document the calls, she says no problem.

So someone standing behind me sniped my calling card number and called exactly where these dirtbags were from. Ok now I'm a little freaked out.

The next morning someone knocks on my door early in the AM.
I say I'm not getting that, but they keep knocking. I open the door and there are two guys holding FBI shields, and they want to speak with my girl and me separately. I'm like WTF is going on here???

After about 20min ot questioning they bring her and I into the room together, and tell use the phone company alerted them to our highjacked phone calls.

I'm as redneck as they come and I'm calling the people that flew those planes into the trade center every racial slure that I could muster up
I'm fairly certain by the time they left our house they knew it wasn't me that made those calls. LOL!!!!

So the next day we rented this badass Audi, and head down the coast to San Diego to use up our days off in cool little cabins, and bed and breakfast places, that we have always wanted to stay at

I didn't ask my girl to marry me for whole other year. I figured that my long deceased Noni was trying to tell me something.

(BAD JUJU or something).

So I figured that I better, see how things go for another yr.

The next yr my girl and I go on a cruise to the Bahamas .

I take her up to the bow of the ship and drop to my knee and propose to her, she screams yes, then what f'n took me so long, my smartass says, ya gotta try before you buy.

I get a slap a hug and a big kiss.

Then she asks me if I am actually retarded??? LMFAO!!!!

We are best friends 25 yrs later.

So our trip to NY last year was to see mainly see the trade center.
Because of our strange relationship to this date. We both cried at the reflection pools, and several times in the museum.

God bless America, and everyone one that made it this far and read this whole post.

I warned you that is was gonna be a long one.LOL!!!

If you haven't been to the 9/11 Memorial, you need too say screw it and go.

God bless everyone that lost family, friends, and coworkers.
And God bless our first responders, and thier families effected by those pukes.

America, will never forget, as long as we keep them in our hearts and prayers.
